Although Irene has publicly apologized twice, it seems that some of her fans still cannot accept this.
The attitude controversy of Irene (Red Velvet) in October of last year can be considered as one of the most popular scandals of the Korean entertainment industry in 2020. Since that scandal, Irene’s image has completely changed in the eyes of the public.
Even though Irene has publicly apologized to the audience twice, once on Instagram and once on Lyns, it seems even that can’t help her regain the lost affection from the Korean online community. Right now, the behaviour of a group of Irene Fans are bringing more hate to the female idol.
Netizens recently discovered that her fans are still constantly harrasing editor Kang Kook Hwa on social networking sites. Kang Kook Hwa is the victim of Irene where she has to suffer 20 minutes of insults from the female idol. In the past, this editor has also repeatedly asked Irene’s fans to stop sending malicious comments and messages to her, but it seems that the situation has not improved.
Some Korean fans of Irene are currently spreading the post of someone claiming to be an “employee of a newly opened clothing brand”, which mention that the editor has a grumpy attitude, while Irene has always treat the staff with kindness. Although this “employee” did not post any evidence to support his/her statement.
On Twitter, Irene’s fan posts can be read criticizing editor Kang Kook Hwa, claiming they feel “resentful” and “heartbroken” about what happened to the leader of Red Velvet. Some fans even asked to listen to the recording filebefore admitting their idol’s mistake.
Witnessing the behavior of Irene fans, the Korean online community was extremely angry to see that her fans still can’t seem to accept the truth, even though their idols have twice apologized to the crime.
“You haven’t stopped yet? These crazy people..”

“It’s true that every idol has a fan… I hope the editor will release the recording file so we can all be quiet”
